    Iranian female Director is a Jury member at the Winter Film Awards.

    Azadeh Nikzadeh an Iranian woman filmmaker has been selected as a jury member for the Winter Film Awards.

    Azadeh Nikzadeh is an Iranian Writer ,director and editor based in New York City. She was the only Iranian filmmaker to receive the prestigious fellowship from Asian Film Academy, Busan International Film Festival in 2010. She also studied directing under the renowned Iranian filmmaker, Abbas Kiarostami which shaped her directing style. Azadeh Nikzadeh was also participated at 2012 Cannes Film Festival’s Short Film Corner with her short film “Whisper/ Najva” . She was awarded for her activities and success as a filmmaker as the Top Youth of her Province by Iran’s Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2012 .

    Azadeh Nikzadeh is also a member of New York Women in Film and Television and New York Women filmmakers, The Sandbox Directors Collective and The Filmshop group.

    New York Winter Film Awards, supports Indie film from around the world. Submitted films could be from any genres, but the emphasis is on highlighting the work of women and underrepresented filmmakers. The rapidly growing Festival – which was recently voted as one of the Top 10 Best Reviewed Festivals on FilmFreeway – seeks to have a diverse collection of creative indie films, ranging from narrative features to short films, from documentaries to animation, and from music videos to web series and even horror films. This year 653 films submitted, and 93 international films were selected to compete at the festival.

    The 7th Annual celebration of independent film is helding February 22 – March 3, 2018 in New York city.

    Bita Elahian

    Bita Elahian, is an Iranian-Americans filmmaker and producer, who is currently living in Los Angeles, CA. She is studying filmmaking at NewYork Academy(NYFA). Ms Elahian has received several awards in US and throughout the world for her exceptional directing in drama films. Currently, she is a member of New York Women in Film and Television and Women in Film LA. Elahian has also previously received an award for the Best Director position from the International Women Theatre in Iran.
