Mitsubishi’s 73” Diamond Series HD 3DTV wins CWB's Seal of Excellence Award

Burbank, CA, February 14, 2011—Cinema Without Borders, an independent publication dedicated to Independent and International Cinema, has declared Mitsubishi’s 73” Diamond Series HD 3DTV as the most ideal High Definition 3D display for film fans.

The 2011 iteration of the prestigious Seal of Excellence Award—received  in the past by the Palm Springs International Short-Fest Film Festival,  Vudu HD On-Demand, and  HP (along with Adobe and Nvidia)—is bestowed upon Mitsubishi’s  Large Screen 3D Display for excellence in providing an exceptional and encompassing experience for film lovers.

“Our team of editors, reviewers and experts spent a great deal of time with Mitsubishi’s display and brought along a plethora of devices. We viewed HD and 3D movies from broadcasters, VOD providers, Blu-ray discs, and 3D Blu-ray discs. It didn’t take much discussion to unanimously grant our Seal of Excellence to Mitsubishi for providing unique, high quality HD and 3D images on a large screen, matching movie theater quality in some instances.” explained Bijan Tehrani, Editor in Chief of Cinema Without Borders. He added that, “Film fans love large screen displays because of their ability to provide a movie theater-like experience, and that environment is coming home now with Mitubishi displays as large as 73, 75, and 83 inches with HD and 3D capabilities that exceed expectations.”

“With the advent of the unprecedented box office success of 3D feature films such as Avatar, Alice in Wonderland and Toy Story 3, it is clear that consumers have fully embraced the large screen 3D experience,” said Frank DeMartin, vice president of marketing, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. “The real thrill of 3D is to feel as though you are a part of the action, and our 73-inch 3D Home Cinema TV delivers that scintillating, immersive experience in the home.”
