Polish Film Festival Los Angeles is around the corner. Now the festival starts on October 14 and continues until October 21.

At the Gala Opening at the Laemmle’s Sunset 5 on October 14th Polish Film Festival Los Angeles will present ALL THAT I LOVE by Jacek Borcuch (Poland’s submission to the 2011 Oscars® in Foreign Language Film Category).

For the eleventh and half time anniversary festival will present the most recent achievements of Polish cinema, among others: JANOSIK. THE TRUE STORY (Janosik. Prawdziwa historia) by Kasia Adamik & Agnieszka Holland, MALL GIRLS (Galerianki) by Katarzyna Roslaniec, MOTHER TERESA OF CATS (Matka Teresa od kotow) by Pawel Sala, ODD ONE OUT (Nie ten czlowiek) by Pawel Wendorff, PIGGIES (Swinki) by Robert Glinski.
To celebrate 20 years of making of Decalogue by Krzysztof Kieslowski Polish Film Festival Los Angeles will present new Decalogue 89+ part 1 & 2. The story were written by high school students and directed by young directors.
Famous Polish actor Jan Nowicki accepted festival’s invitation and two films with him in main role: THE HOUR-GLASS SANATORIUM by Wojciech Jerzy Has and BEFORE TWILIGHT by Jacek Blawut. Will be screened.

In the segment of movies made by Polish filmmakers abroad festival will present PLAYER by Alina Szpak.

To celebrate the 200-year anniversary of Frederic Chopin’s birthday Polish Film Festival Los Angeles will present CHOPIN 2010 – THE SPACE CONCERT by Adam Ustynowicz.
To celebrate the 600-year anniversary of Grunwald Battle, there will be a screening of THE TEUTONIC KNIGHTS (Krzyzacy) by Aleksander Ford and animated version of the Jan Matejko’s painting The Grunwald Battle by Tokem Baginski.

Films screened at the documentaries segment will be THE LABYRINTH (Labirynt) by Jason A. Schmidt, IRENA SENDLER: IN THE NAME OF THEIR MOTHERS by Mary Skinner, TOURNEE by Andrzej Mankowski, BEATS OF FREEDOM by Wojciech Slota & Leszek Gnoinski.

In the animation category Polish Film Festival Los Angeles will present a layout of films prepared by Balbina Bruszewska, produced by Se-Ma-For Production Company.
